Betway Continue To Beat The Sponsorship Trail - Now It's Snooker!

An agreement has been reached between the governing body of World Snooker and Betway Sportsbook for them to become the title sponsor of what will now be known as the 2015 Betway UK Championship.

This was recently announced on April 2, 2015, and the event will take place at the well-known Barbican at York in the United Kingdom running from November 24, through till December 6.

The newly signed agreement represents their ongoing endeavours into the world of snooker. The online betting company recently lent their name to the World Seniors Championship held in Blackpool at the Tower Circus Arena along with the World Snooker's Shoot-out; these were both held in early March.

Since the inauguration of the event way back in 1977, the UK Championship is now viewed as one of the most greatly anticipated tournaments on the annual snooker calendar. It makes up the last leg of the Snooker Triple crown and Ronnie O'Sullivan as well as being its reigning champion has also won the tournament an incredible five times.

On the recent deal being signed, CEO of Betway Richard Akitt was delighted to confirm the company's commitment to fans of the sport everywhere with the sponsoring of such a high-status tournament. He claimed worldwide viewing figures have been on the increase year upon year, which indicated the sport was going places and was great for them to be part of this ground breaking growth.

Barry Hearn Chairman of World Snooker was equally enthused and spoke of how thrilled the sport was to have the gaming company's involvement in what he called "the crown jewels of the snooker calendar". He went on to say that the 2015 event will be watched by millions across the globe as the very top players compete for this most prestigious of titles.

Betway recently became sponsors of Soccer's Premiership club West Ham United and as well as offering their name to Premier League Darts also sponsored the Cheltenham Festival 2015 Champion Chase, no doubt, more deals will be done, as the year unfolds.
